In addition you will need a federal and a state EIN if you will hire employees. I.e., a CA Federal Tax Id Number ($29)  and a(n) CA  State Employer Tax Number  


Instead of filing a fictitious business name DBA Filing (about $49 plus state and legal newspaper publication fees) in Corona Del Mar, Incorporate in CA  or form a(n) CA LLC


You have a choice to file a DBA or form an LLC or incorporate. There is a cicrcumstance that you may not need to register a trade name and that is when you use your full name as a business name if you use your full legal name as a trade name.

To sell new or used furniture, you first need to select the business structure among a sole proprietor, a partnership, Corporation or LLC to sell used furniture.
Regardless of which one you choose, you will need a general Business License.
If you also use a trade name, such as "Pre-owned is Furniture is Better Than New Furniture," doing business as (DBA), or you are partnership, to do business (a name other than your full legal name), you also need a DBA doing business as certificate filing.
